Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School was recently recognized as a Promising Practices Professional Learning Community at Work through Solution Tree!
In order to become a PLC at Work, schools/districts must demonstrate a commitment to the PLC at Work process, implement those processes for at least one year, and present evidence of improvement in students’ learning. In submitting evidence, data showing increased student achievement, including data showing academic progress of traditionally underserved populations, is required.
With PLC at Work comes three major ideas that educators are called on to adopt: a focus on learning, building a collaborative culture, and creating a focus on firm results. In implementing practices, PLC at Work Schools respond to the following questions:
What do we want students to know and be able to do?
How will we know if students have learned it?
How will we respond if some didn't learn it?
How will we respond if some already know it?
“We are honored to have our hard work and dedication recognized by Solution Tree,” Roosevelt Elementary School Principal David Chilson said. “This is a significant step on our journey to become a model PLC Elementary School and provide an outstanding education for our students.”
