Get ready for lots and lots of spots! Students at West Middle School have been working extremely hard on their production of “101 Dalmatians: Kids”, and it’s just about time to raise the curtain!
The show will take place on Thursday, January 25 at Binghamton High School’s Helen Foley Theatre. The performance begins at 6 p.m., and admission is free!
35 students from West Middle School are taking part in this year’s musical and have spent the past several weeks learning the lines, songs, and dance moves that will bring this rendition of the classic story to life. For some, they’ve been in plays before, but for others, it’s their first time.
“The reason why I wanted to do this is because I’ve never been in one before and I wanted to try something new,” says Zayne Rick, who plays Roger. “I’m excited for the solo part that I have in the song ‘Cruella DeVille’.”
Cruella Deville is easily the most recognizable role in the show (aside from all the dogs and their many spots). Eighth-grader Annabelle Crane plays Deville in the show and can’t wait to show everyone her take on such an iconic character.
“She has cool hair, she has a cool coat!” Crane notes. “She’s a fun character too. She has a lot of personality.”
