2023 Distinguished Graduates

The Binghamton City School District is getting ready to welcome back some familiar faces from the past who will return to their old stomping grounds for one exciting night.

One of the most cherished traditions on the calendar each year, the Binghamton City School District’s 29th Annual Distinguished Graduates Dinner will take place on Thursday October 12 at Binghamton High School.

It’s always a delight to take a trip down memory lane for the honored alumni, attendees, and everyone else in attendance. Below are this year’s honored graduates:

Talyse Hampton – BHS ‘05
Talyse Hampton is the Head of US Private Bank Campus Recruiting for J.P. Morgan and Guggenheim Securities. Before that, she was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Leveraged Applications, an Ithaca tech company which created apps to connect high school students to colleges.

Dr. Brian Kittredge – BHS ‘98
Dr. Brian Kittredge is an Associate Professor and  Director of Choral Activities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since 2010, choirs under his direction have performed all across the United States.Dr. Kittredge also serves as the Youth and Student Activities Coordinator for the Alabama Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, as well as artistic faculty at the New York State Summer School of the Arts.

The Honorable Lea Webb – BHS ‘98
The Honorable Lea Webb was elected as New York State Senator for the 52nd District in 2022, but her love of serving the community began at age 15, making sure people here in Binghamton had food for the holidays. She eventually became the first African-American representative on Binghamton City Council, where she served two terms. Sen. Webb has received numerous accolades over the years, including being named One of Tomorrow's Leaders by Oprah Magazine and The White House Project.

Brian D. Whalen – BNHS – ‘76
Brian Whalen has been a pivotal member of the BCSD for decades, and is respected across the Binghamton community as a devoted servant to the district and its families. Whalen was elected to the BCSD Board of Education five times over the past 22 years, and served his final meeting as board president this past June.
