Binghamton Students at Denali National Park and Preserve

We’re used to the lovely nature here in the Southern Tier – rolling hills, trees as far as the eye can see, and varied wildlife – but a group of Binghamton students got the opportunity to get a whole new experience learning about nature in one of America’s most beautiful and unique biomes.

The group of students, along with West Middle School science teacher Jeff Sabol recently took the trek out to America’s largest state – Alaska. The trip was taken through Worldstrides, an organization that connects students and teachers with memorable educational trips designed to broaden horizons beyond the classroom.

As part of the trip, the group visited Denali National Park and Preserve (which is home to Denali, the tallest mountain in the United States) for some backcountry hiking, learned about sled dogs and met some little pups, and observed some of the wildlife out on the water at Resurrection Bay.

Take a look below at some of the beautiful pictures from their trip!
