Federal legislation and NYS Education law requires the school district to give military recruiters the same access to information on secondary students as provided to post-secondary institutions and prospective employers. The law also requires that the district give military recruiters, upon request, the names, addresses and telephone listings of secondary students, unless the adult student or parent or guardian of the student requests that such information not be released without their prior written consent. You have the right to request that the school district not release the name, address and telephone listing to military recruiters.
