In the news Graphic Elementary Students Honor Local Veterans with Letters
Woodrow Wilson Elementary School held an assembly Nov. 9 to celebrate veterans. Members of the Marine Corps presented the flag and taught the students about the process of honoring the colors. The students wrote thank you letters to the veterans and read them to their audience. Jennifer Kelly, the event's organizer, has been bringing the event to the Binghamton City School District for 18 years. She says she hopes the students learn why thanking veterans is so important. B Logo BCSD Introduces NEW Three-Hour Delay for Winter Weather
The district is committed to a process that ensures decisions regarding the safety and well-being of our entire school community are made wisely and in a timely fashion. The following are general guidelines followed when determining a delay or closure: For snow, ice or other weather-related delays, we monitor the current conditions and the forecasted conditions for travel between the times of 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Given the weather conditions, we take into consideration the ability of our staff to plow parking lots and sidewalks, as well as, the ability of local municipalities to plow and make streets passable.

In the news graphic BCSD Alumnus, Rod Serling Celebrated for his Legacy
It's been nearly 60 years since "The Twilight Zone" first aired on TV. Rod Serling's hometown has gone through some changes since then, but pieces of Binghamton that inspired the Emmy Award winning screenwriter still remain.

Serling was born in Syracuse and moved to Binghamton with his family in 1924. His time in Binghamton would inspire one of the reoccurring themes in Serling's work. “To get away from the stress of work, the stress of everyday life and to go back to his hometown," says Larry Kassan, Serling enthusiast and Special Events and Theater Coordinator at Binghamton High School. Watch the Rod Serling Story on WICZ.
