Board of education members BCSD Board of Education Holds Annual Reorganization Meeting
At the annual reorganization meeting of the BCSD Board of Education newly elected board member, Dr. Penelope Harper, took the oath of office. Brian Whalen was elected as the board president and Evan McNamara was named vice president. School board representatives were also named for each school. 
Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Leadership Changes at Woodrow Wilson
While it may seem like graduation was just yesterday, July 1 actually marks the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year and we have some important leadership changes to tell you about as we ramp up for the start of school this fall.

First, we want to announce that long-standing Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Principal, Barbara McLean will be retiring effective July 14. She has served the district for 32 years in positions including ESL teacher, elementary teacher, reading teacher, dean of students and elementary principal. McLean’s leadership has been an inspiration to many students and staff and we mark her departure with deepest gratitude and best wishes for a long, healthy and happy retirement.

Tuesday, members of the Binghamton Rotary Club met for their annual 'Student of the Year' awards at the Holiday Inn, to celebrate several outstanding kids.Rotarian Lana Rouff hosted the event, giving thanks and appreciation to several 5th grade students of Binghamton Elementary schools that exampled the Rotarian belief of putting others before themselves. Local second graders gave back to the community Thursday by helping Saint Michael's Church pinch pierogi. Students from the Woodrow Wilson Elementary School volunteered their time for the church's ongoing pierogi fundraiser.The school says it's a way to show their appreciation for all that Saint Michael's does for them.
