In the news graphic BCSD Brings Children Together Through Buddy Bench
A national movement known as the Buddy Bench, aiming to bring children together on the playground, is coming to the Binghamton Central School District.The concept of the bench is to bring safe spaces to children who might feel lonely or are looking for a friend during lunch and recess at school.Local mom Kate McKan said she came across the idea on Facebook more than a year ago and was inspired to bring it into the community. TK Openings available Transitional Kindergarten Openings Still Available
Transitional Kindergarten or TK openings are still available. TK serves as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, functioning to provide students with time to develop fundamental skills needed for success. Children must be five years old by Dec. 1. B logo BCSD Announces the 25th Annual Distinguished Graduates for 2017
The students of Binghamton High School will host the Binghamton City School District’s 25th Annual Distinguished Graduates Dinner at Binghamton High School on Thursday, Oct. 5. The event will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets for this benefit dinner are $40.00. Call 607-762-8202 to request a dinner menu and reservation form.

The Binghamton City School District is partnering with the Broome County Department of Social Services for a new program where caseworkers will be placed in elementary schools to assist families.  Binghamton is the first school district in Broome County to take on this initiative. "We're thankful to the county executive and the Department of Social Services for their willingness to explore other ways to support our families," said Superintendent Dr. Tonia Thompson.  See the stories on WBNG and WICZ.
