BHS Parade of Champions
The city of Binghamton honored the Class AA state champion Binghamton High School softball team and state champion members of the track and field team Tuesday with a parade of champions.The community showed up in bunches and Mayor Rich David opened the ceremony to honor the student-athletes. Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Triathlon
To help you stay in reading shape all summer long, the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Triathlon has been designed with activities and challenges that you'll find fun no matter what kind of books you like to read. You can also earn a FREE book. For grades 1-6. Click here for more information. 
BCSD PTECH Students Display Artwork at Gallery for First Friday
Binghamton students in the P-TECH program took photographs of our community. The pictures were supposed to capture hope, pride, and despair. The students narrowed over 4,000 pictures to 27, which will be on display this week for Binghamton's First Friday June 3 from 6-9 p.m.. Watch the story on WICZ and WIVT.   
BCSD Hosts Workshop on Safety and Discipline
The Binghamton City School District on Monday held a community workshop to discuss school climate and safety within the elementary schools. Invited to the event were community members, stakeholders in the district, parents, educators and administrators.The groups on Monday learned about the code of conduct, emergency procedures and behavior task force within the district for elementary schools.The district hopes that by gathering this information it will be better equipped to form a plan of action for the 2016-2017 school year. BCSD Hosts Substance Abuse Awareness Workshop
Binghamton City School District and the BHS PTSA will be hosting a substance abuse awareness workshop at the BHS on May 25 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. The workshop for parents, students and community members will address the growing problem of substance abuse.  Watch the Around the Tiers segment on WBNG.   
WMS National Junior Honor Society Students Volunteer at CHOW
West Middle School Students in the National Junior Honor Society volunteered at the CHOW farm in Conklin over the weekend.  All the students had a great time learning about giving back to the community.  
Substance Abuse Awareness Workshop Shows Students How to Get Help
Do you have a substance abuse problem or know someone who does? Do you feel lost and out of control? Do you want to help a friend or loved one? Then come to Binghamton High School's Substance Abuse Awareness Workshop on Wednesday, May 25 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. 
West Orchestra Students Perform at NYSSMA
On April 15 and 16, students from the orchestra program at West Middle School participated in the annual NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival at Johnson City High School. They all had to prepare a solo, scales, and sight reading for a judge to critique them. Students also had the opportunity to perform their solos at the West Middle School Arts Night and NYSSMA recital on May 9. All students were coached by Laura Hine. Congratulations to all participants on a job well done!
