Teachers Learn How to Engage Students in Project Lead the Way Launch

Teachers try out an activity from one of the PLTW kindergarten modules where the "Jack and the Beanstalk" story is read and students then build a beanstalk using pipe cleaners.

Binghamton is ramping up its Elementary Project Lead the Way implementation. More than 40 teachers from grades K-2 are undergoing training this summer.  PLTW Launch allows students to become problem solvers.  Students use structured approaches, like the engineering design process, and employ critical thinking.  They apply STEM knowledge, skills, and habits of mind, learning that it is OK to take risks and make mistakes.  As teachers and students learn and discover together, education becomes far more engaging.
