BCSD Budget Presented During Public Hearing
Karry Mullins, Assistant Superintendent for Administration at Binghamton City School District presents the 2016-17 proposed budget to interested community members at the May 10 Public Hearing. The proposed budget of $112,167,108 calls for a 2.13% tax levy increase which is within the allowable levy limit increase prescribed by state law. An increase in state aid for the coming year will allow the district to maintain several positions and programs initiated or re-initiated last year. The additional aid will also help reduce the district’s dependence on reserves to balance the budget as has been the case in the past several years, thus improving the district’s overall fiscal health and viability.
