Summer Youth Musical Theatre Workshop Finds New Home at BHS
This August the Summer Youth Musical Theatre Workshop presented four sold out performances of the hit international musical Les Miserables at the BHS Helen Foley Theatre. After almost 18 years at Binghamton University organizers of the three week musical theatre workshop were thrilled to take residency in their new home at Binghamton High School. Over 70 students from schools throughout Broome County participated and in the two casts, six BCSD students took part in the program. Both performers and their parents were extremely impressed with the performing arts facilities at the BHS Rod Serling School of the Arts and quickly fell in love with their new home! Lawrence Kassan, BCSD Coordinator of Special Events and Theater acted both as their host for the summer and production Lighting Designer.Participating BCSD students: Gianna Beach, Josh Schull, Alfie Massey, Olivia Capozzi, Natalie DeBoer and Anna Gilroy. The program is sponsored by both SUNY Broome and the Binghamton City School District.
