Organizers of the Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner at Binghamton High School are making preparations for this year’s annual event, now in its 21st consecutive year. With the expansion of the dining room and continuation of a shuttle bus service (courtesy of First Student), we can accommodate more guests and assist those with transportation concerns. Home delivery and “take home” meals will not be available.
The dinner is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 at the Binghamton High School’s two cafeterias.
The dinner is possible because of community donations and fundraising by the students of the Binghamton High School National Honor Society. Each year, BHS students, staff and others spend the holiday preparing and serving a full-course Thanksgiving dinner to thousands of local residents.
Again, as initiated last year, individuals, businesses and area organizations will be able to sponsor a table at the cost of $250. Your name and/or logo will be displayed on the table during the entire afternoon noting a very special thanks for your sponsorship and you will be thanked in a press ad appearing soon after the dinner in the Press and Sun-Bulletin. If you are interested in sponsoring a table please call Lawrence Kassan at (607)762-8202 for details.
