Leadership Changes at Woodrow Wilson

While it may seem like graduation was just yesterday, July 1 actually marks the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year and we have some important leadership changes to tell you about as we ramp up for the start of school this fall.

First, we want to announce that long-standing Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Principal, Barbara McLean will be retiring effective July 14. She has served the district for 32 years in positions including ESL teacher, elementary teacher, reading teacher, dean of students and elementary principal. McLean’s leadership has been an inspiration to many students and staff and we mark her departure with deepest gratitude and best wishes for a long, healthy and happy retirement.

McLean’s position will be filled by Daniel Miller. He will be moving from his current position as the interim principal of Theodore Roosevelt to become the next principal at Woodrow Wilson effective August 1. Miller has spent the last 11 years serving as an assistant principal and interim principal at the elementary and secondary levels. Prior to that, he was a physical education teacher for eight years with the district and we are truly pleased to have his history of leadership with the district continue and grow.

Please monitor the district website, e-blasts and Facebook page for any other updates to information regarding staffing changes or other news items that highlight the great work of our students and staff.
