Students can learn about career opportunities and the pathways to achieve desirable careers in the STEAM field. At last night's board of education meeting three new administrators were added to the district. Velvet Tanner was named the new director of special services. Tanner has served in the district in various capacities over the past 15 years. She has been a special educator and most recently served as the collaborative coach for Thomas Jefferson. She will begin her new role on Oct. 26. Shelly Richards was named the new assistant principal at MacArthur and Roosevelt Elementary Schools. [...click for more]

The Binghamton City School District’s Pre-K program is FREE and open to all children who are 4 by Dec. 1 and live in the City of Binghamton. Half day openings are currently available at Binghamton High School (BHS Pre-K) and MacArthur Elementary Pre-K. There are also half day openings at the Jewish Community Center and Campus Preschool at Binghamton University. Families can register at 98 Oak St in Binghamton or call (607) 762-8197 for more information.
