Woodrow Wilson Elementary School held an assembly Nov. 9 to celebrate veterans. Members of the Marine Corps presented the flag and taught the students about the process of honoring the colors. The students wrote thank you letters to the veterans and read them to their audience. Jennifer Kelly, the event's organizer, has been bringing the event to the Binghamton City School District for 18 years. She says she hopes the students learn why thanking veterans is so important.
