All Schools in the Binghamton City School District are eligible to receive Title 1 funds. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 states that as a parent of a student in one of these schools, you have the right to request the following information about your child(ren)’s classroom teacher(s):

1. Whether New York has certified or otherwise qualified the teacher for the grade and subject that the teacher is teaching;

2. Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or temporary license by which New York state certification has been waived;

3. What academic degrees are held by the teacher, as well as the teacher’s college major.
