Dear Parents and Guardians:

At Horace Mann we strive to provide your children with a well-rounded education that includes a challenging curriculum along with the social and emotional skills necessary to be successful in life.

One of our biggest challenges continues to be student attendance and the number of students who are showing up late and or absent daily. Students are missing valuable instruction time which can’t be made up. I am reaching out to parents so that you have a better understanding of why attendance matters and how you can help us improve this issue at our school.

Watch our newest video on our BCSD You Tube channel about Project Lead the Way. PLTW is a nationally recognized pre-engineering curriculum which can be integrated at any grade level K-12. While PLTW is widely implemented in many schools nationally at the high school level, BCSD is one of only a handful of districts that implements the curriculum at the elementary level.

Booster Club

A Word from our President
Meetings are the first Monday of every month at 3pm in the library

Horace Mann Booster Club

We are blessed at Horace Mann to have a dedicated and caring group of teachers, support staff and principal and we can make the environment even stronger for the kids by getting involved ourselves.

Last year the Booster Club provided money for field trips to Animal Adventure, Museum of Science & Technology in Syracuse, Oakwood Manor for horseback riding and end-of-year trips to Greenwood Park and Otseningo Park. We also fund Bookie Wookie, butterflies in the kindergartens, Movie Night, performances in the school (like Jared Campbell, Binghamton University Drums, the Binghamton Philharmonic & puppet shows), supplies for the classrooms, a new computer, a baby kangaroo visit to the kindergartens, and the list continues.

These are great ways to enhance our children’s lives and offer opportunities for fun, creativity and learning. We couldn’t do it without your support. Thanks for getting involved!

We meet every first Monday of the month at 2:45 in the school library.
