Technology Course Outline and Expectations
Course description:
The students in technology will experience an array of different functions and uses of technology. The course itself is ten weeks long in which your child will begin learning how to properly and safely use certain power tools and processes. Throughout the ten weeks technology will address the MYP concepts in many ways whether in design or the areas of interaction. The major area of interaction that technology addresses is the Environments concept, the students begin to understand where they live and more importantly why.

Areas of interaction in Technology:
Approaches to Learning, the students will experience different styles of learning and use of prior knowledge from their other courses.
Community and Service, The students learn skills that they can use within the community to help other people and help their fellow students within the class.
Human Ingenuity, The course constantly has the students creating different projects using the design cycle and ask the question why.
Environments, Technology has the students understanding why the building and places around them are built and how, and for what reasons.
Health and Social Education, the safety of the class is constantly in question for the actions of each student.
