A Bit About Me...
I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Binghamton when I was three months old. I attended school through the Binghamton City School District for elementary, middle, and high school. After graduating, I went to SUNY Cortland where I received my degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Psychology. This degree came after a semester abroad, where I completed my student teaching in London, England. I then went back to SUNY Cortland and completed my Master's Degree in Childhood/Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on Technology.
Once my degree was completed, I accepted a teaching position at the Family Enrichment Network, teaching in their Head Start program. I left this position a year and a half later to move to Australia and teach Fourth Grade on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. After teaching a full year in Australia, I went back to teaching at Head Start and was hired to teach Kindergarten at MacArthur Elementary in 2007.
I am proud to be teaching in the district I graduated from. I feel the education I received from the Binghamton City School District could not have been any better, and I am enjoying my role of laying the foundation for future graduates.
Outside of school, I enjoy doing volunteer work in the community. I am involved in several organizations that enable me to give back in various ways. Traveling is also something I do whenever I have the chance. I also enjoy time with family and friends, and you may catch me shopping and eating out on the weekends, as those are both favorite pastimes of mine.
