High school students faced with the task of deciding what to do after graduation are often confused and overwhelmed. The College Connection at BHS works closely with the Guidance Department to help students and parents investigate college options.  The program helps students with the admissions process, maximizing their chances of being accepted into the college of their choice and setting realitic goals in regards to backup colleges.  Our staff also helps students and parents understand financial aid and how to apply for it.

The College Connection is a multi-faceted program offering college books, computer programs, access to the internet, college videos and other resource materials. Located in the BHS Student Commons area, the College Connection is open every day during the school year and at other times by appointment.  Parents are always welcome!

SCHOLARSHIPS

Many local and regional organizations provide scholarships for BHS students.  Each scholarship is announced in the morning announcements, put in the green "Scholarship" book in the College Connection and posted on this website. For national scholarships there are many websites. Many colleges have suggested we recommend www.fastweb.com. It is one of the largest national database. Beware of scams & NEVER NEVER pay for a scholarship

Dollars For Scholars

Dollars for Scholars is a national volunteer organization whose goal is to award money to high school students who are going to college. These awards are made possible through the efforts of the commuinity. Donations come from the community; raised by community volunteers including many BHS students, led by a board of directors made of community members.

You can also help raise money online just by adding "Goodsearch" as your search engine. To do this go to www.goodsearch.com and pick Binghamton High School Dollars for Scholars as the charity you are rasing for. Set it as your homepage or under your favorite bar and you're all set to go happy searching!

If you prefer, you can mail your contribution to: Dollars for Scholars, Box 272 Southview Station, Binghamton, NY, 13903.
