  • Complete classroom vocal and instrumental music programs
  • Complete art, home & careers and technology programs
  • Extensive interscholastic athletics
  • Peer Leaders Program
  • Wide variety of clubs and after-school activities
  • Junior Honor Society
  • GEAR UP college awareness program, offered in collaboration with Binghamton University

For specific information on instruction within a grade level and subject area, please refer to our

District Curriculum Maps.

  • International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP)

MYP Coordinator:  Mark Ward
wardm@binghamtonschools.org

The IB Middle Years is a programme of international education designed to help students aged 11 to 16 develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to participate actively and responsibly in a changing world.

This age period, encompassing early puberty and mid-adolescence, is a particularly critical phase of personal and intellectual development and requires a programme that helps students participate actively and responsibly in a changing and increasingly interrelated world. Learning how to learn and how to evaluate information critically is as important as learning facts.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered at both East and West Middle Schools, and at Binghamton High School, for students in grades 6 - 10.
