Biographies

A biography is a type of nonfiction writing that tells the true story of another person's life. Biography writing can be found in books, newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias and other reference materials in print and online.

~When searching for information on famous people ...Remember to use last name, first.

Types of information to look for include:

• birth date / death date (if available)
• place of birth and childhood information
• education / schools
• jobs and career information
• family life - parents / wife / children
• goals / problems & how person overcame them
• contributions to society: why they are famous...awards, accomplishments, etc.
• later life experiences
• other interesting facts (travel, influences, interests, hobbies, etc.)
