COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE

October Collection: small toys, coloring items, crafts, student-made decorations and non-perishable food for the annual BHS Thanksgiving Dinner.

West Middle School's Community Service Initiative (CSI) is a new program beginning this year at West Middle School.  In conjunction with the district's new International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and its community service component, CSI is a new program that focuses on helping each other and our community.

Our first effort was called "Project Reload" and will be an ongoing project throughout the year.  We're collecting extra school supplies: pens, pencils, folders, loose-leaf paper, notebooks, binders, crayons, markers, etc. all year.  The supplies will be stored in one location at the school and will be available for students who need to replenish lost or consumed supplies.  Donations are welcome! If you would like to make a donation, please drop off supplies in the Guidance Office.

In addition to Project Reload, CSI will also focus on helping a different community group each month.  For the month of September, we collected items for the Humane Society and Project Paw.
