EMS Students Perform at NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival
On April 15 and 16, students from the band and orchestra programs at East Middle School participated in the annual NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival at Johnson City High School. They all had to prepare a solo, scales, and sight reading for a judge to critique them. All students were coached by Michaela Clark, Laura Hine and Rob Johnson. Congratulations on a job well done! 
BCSD Celebrates National Poetry Month with Celebration
April marks National Poetry Month, a celebration of poetry started in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets.Here in town, there's the Eleanor Hendricks Countywide Poetry Recitation for Children. Now in its 26th year, the recitation will be held April 30 in the Helen Foley Theater at Binghamton High School. Read story on Press Connects 
PLTW Lets Students Earn College Credits in High School
Watch our new video on Project Lead the Way.  PLTW is a program that allows high school students to earn college credits from RIT while taking a five-course sequence in engineering.  It was designed to increase the quality and quantity of students going into engineering.   
East Middle Students Perform in All County 5-6 Band
East Middle School students Samantha Stanton and Shamell Jones were a few of the best student musicians in Broome County who performed recently at the Binghamton University Anderson Center as members of the All-County 5-6 Grade Band.
