Franklin Students Learn About Dangers of Bullying image Franklin Students Learn About Dangers of Bullying
Fifth graders from Benjamin Franklin Elementary School learned about some of the things that happen when someone is a victim of bullying. A dozen BCSD students from the Liberty Partnership acted as a panel and shared their experiences either of being bullied, being a bully or being a bystander in a bullying situation. Then the fifth graders met with the Liberty students and staff in smaller groups to ask questions and advice in a more intimate setting.

Students of Ben Franklin Elementary were able to usher in the new era of baseball in Broome County thanks to Binghamton’s minor league baseball team. The students won a city-wide reading challenge and were able to unveil the new team name, the Rumble Ponies. The winning name came from a submission from Nicole Schneider from Binghamton. Her inspiration came from the children’s book “The Carousel,” which was written by Binghamton City School District Board Member Liz Rosenberg. See photo gallery and watch the stories on WBNG, WIVT, Time Warner Cable News and Press Connects
